§ 9-1. Proclamation and determination of emergency.

  • Whenever in the judgment of the Mayor, or, in the event of the Mayor's inability to act, the Acting Mayor, it is determined that an emergency exists or is imminent as the result of mob action, riot, disorderly assemblage or other widespread or perilous disturbances which may cause death or injury to persons or destruction of property or natural disaster or man-made calamity such as flood, conflagration, earthquake, explosion or the uncontained presence of corrosive, radioactive or poisonous substances or gases, the Mayor or the Acting Mayor, as the case may be, shall have the power and authority to impose by proclamation any or all of the following regulations necessary to protect and preserve the health, safety and welfare of the citizens and inhabitants of the Township of West Windsor.
