§ 4-44. Division of Affordable Housing.

  • There shall be a Division of Affordable Housing. The Division of Affordable Housing shall:
    A. 
    Oversee and manage the housing application process; log in new applications, maintain and update waiting lists and affordable housing files, respond to applicants' questions and concerns in person, by telephone and in writing and assist in the applicant appeal process.
    B. 
    Represent the Township's interest with Avalon Watch and any future rental management; prepare waiting lists as needed, review their files and procedures and ensure compliance with Township affordable housing guidelines and procedures.
    C. 
    Provide support for residents of affordable units as needed and act as liaison to the Division of Senior and Social Services.
    D. 
    Serve as liaison and support to the Affordable Housing Committee and provide information to any other board or committee; work with the Housing Committee, Township staff and professionals to develop new affordable housing projects without adverse impact on the community.
    E. 
    Monitor affordable housing issues and their impacts on West Windsor, COAH, state legislation and court decisions. Prepare reports and updates for the Mayor and Planning Board as required.
    F. 
    Serve as a member of the Township professional team in analyzing any development application that contains an affordable housing component.
    G. 
    Regularly review ordinances and policies of the affordable housing program and recommend changes as appropriate. Seek and apply for grant applications.
    H. 
    Manage the resales of purchase units. Recommend resales policies.
    I. 
    Interface with other government and cooperative efforts, especially Mercer County.
